Position: CNC Machinist

Type: Contract

Compensation: $25 - $50/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines across multiple platforms, including desktop and industrial models.
  • Load and verify CNC programs, install tooling, configure work-holding, and set work offsets for various projects.
  • Run first-piece cycles, inspect machined parts against drawings, and adjust setups to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and diagnose issues such as tool wear, chatter, or dimensional drift.
  • Utilize precision measurement instruments to validate parts and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation to guide part production.

Requirements

  • Have strong relevant experience in CNC machining, including both setup and production.
  • Expertise operating Haas control systems (VF-2 or similar platforms) required.
  • Familiarity with hobbyist/desktop CNC platforms strongly preferred.
  • Proven proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and use of advanced measurement tools.
  • Experience working with a range of materials, including both metals and plastics.
