CNC Machinist

Pay Rate: £15 - £23 p/h (Depending on Experience)

Hours: 8-4 Monday-Thursday, 8-1 Friday - (40 Hours per Week)

Role Type: Temporary with an opportunity for a permanent placement

Stafflex are proudly working with an established and growing Precision Engineering business looking to add some skilled CNC Machinists (Operators / Setters / Programmers) to their workshop team due to continued expansion and increasing customer demand.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Engineer to join a company that specialises in complex, low-volume machining projects, across a range of highly regulated and technically demanding industries. Rather than repetitive production work, you'll be involved in challenging components, prototype development and engineering problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Operating CNC Machinery
  • Editing and proving out programs
  • Programming and setting machinery
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Producing precision components to tight tolerances
  • Identifying and resolving machining challenges
  • Supporting continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
  • Maintaining quality and safety standards within the workshop

Key Requirements

  • Experience working with CNC Machines (Fanuc/Hurco)
  • A desire to tackle technically engaging work
  • Proactive and positive approach
  • Learn from mistakes and continually develop skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team

Experience in programming and milling / turning machinery is highly advantageous and would be reflected in the salary

This is varied work that involves prototyping and development work, small batch manufacturing, process improvement and optimisation, and precision engineering projects for sectors including aerospace, automotive, energy, and other advanced manufacturing industries.
