Job Summary
To set and operate a range of CNC-controlled machinery within the company, ensuring production meets required specifications and quality standards.
Salary: Starting rate varies dependant on experience from circa £43,500–£54,500 per annum (inclusive of 35% shift premium)
A substantial earning potential of £65,000–£70,000 annually is achievable, which includes overtime, for flexible machinists who are willing to work additional hours within legal limits.
Shift Pattern: Day shift: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m./ Night shift: 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. 12-hour shifts (30-minute unpaid break)
Employees work 14 shifts within a 28-day cycle with six consecutive days off every month.
Overtime Rates: 1.5x the standard hourly rate for hours worked Monday through Saturday. 2.0x the standard hourly rate for hours worked on Sundays.
A combo rate of £2 per hour is also paid for each additional machine operated.
There is plenty of room to grow over time and develop expertise in this role to achieve higher grading rates.

We are based a 5-minute walk from Kirby in Ashfield Train Station. Urban Road, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham, United Kingdom, NG17 8AP

Main Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC machines, including:
- DMG DMC 160U
- WFL 120 / WFL 65
- MAZAK E500
- MAZAK Integrex i-400
- CINCINNATI FTV5
- UNION TC110
- TOS VARNSDORF WHN130MC
- MCM Tank 1600 MP10 (10 pallets)
- Produce precision machined components and tooling items to specification
- Perform quality checks throughout batch cycles
- Accurately record quantities and time allocation using company systems
- Conduct regular machine maintenance as per schedules
- Carry out any other duties within the scope of the role as requested by Senior Management

Skills & Qualifications
- The role will involve setting and operating a variety of CNC 3/4/5 axis machines, dealing with Aluminium, Steel and Titanium components to tight tolerances.
- Must have a good level of understanding in using either Fanuc / Heidenheim / Mazatrol / Siemens machine control systems; and also be willing to develop further CNC machining skills and abilities.
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by Senior Management.
