💰 Up to £36,870 DOE (including shift allowance)

📅 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

2-Shift Rotation

  • Days: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 - 15:15
  • Afters: Monday to Thursday, 15:00 - 00:30

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Miller who takes pride in producing precision-engineered parts while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

What You'll Be Doing

As a CNC Machinist, you will:

  • ✅ Operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently
  • ✅ Interpret engineering drawings, SOPs, and route card instructions accurately
  • ✅ Use Dial Test Indicators (DTIs) for probing and job setup
  • ✅ Select and load the correct NC programs, tooling, and machine parameters
  • ✅ Perform machine setups, test runs, and program adjustments to achieve precise specifications
  • ✅ Carry out in-process and final inspections using gauges, measuring instruments, and templates
  • ✅ Record production activities within the SFDC system in line with company procedures
  • ✅ Identify and report manufacturing or documentation issues to Team Leaders and Supervisors
  • ✅ Resolve non-conformance issues through self-inspection and quality checks
  • ✅ Support wider machine shop activities as required
  • ✅ Use overhead cranes when required (training provided)

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who:

  • Has CNC milling experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Can confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Takes ownership of safety, productivity, and workmanship standards
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Has experience with overhead cranes (desirable but not essential)

Qualifications

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal CNC Machinist:

  • Previous experience should include manufacturing industry, preferably in a medium to heavy environment.
  • CNC milling experience.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Heidenheim, and Siemens would be an advantage.
  • Ability to reading engineering drawings
  • Awareness of safety legislation and quality procedures (ISO 9001)
  • Attention to detail
