Job Opportunity: Machinist at Service Centre in Rugby
We are delighted to announce that we are seeking a Machinist to join our Service Centre team based at our site on Newbold Road in Rugby.
You will be working as part of our team using a variety of machines including Mills, Lathes, and Drills. As a CNC machinist, you will manufacture large bespoke items from high-grade metals ensuring the quality of products and operations are aligned to drawings, customer order requirements, as well as internal and regulatory quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture large bespoke items from high-grade metals.
- Ensure quality of products and operations are aligned to drawings, customer order requirements, as well as internal and regulatory quality standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- Write and edit code to ensure the end product is manufactured to the highest quality.
- Carry out self-inspection on manufactured parts using micrometers and other inspection tools.
- Work as part of a skilled and experienced workforce.
- Support EHS, Quality, Continuous improvement, and New Product initiatives in line with business needs.
- Ensure compliance to company and general Health and Safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations.

Shift Pattern
Our machinists work on a rotation basis across 3 shifts:
- 07.00-15.30
- 15.15-21.30
- 21.30-07.00
Work Monday to Friday (Monday to Thursday if on a night rotation).
Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, alternatively a recognized apprenticeship within engineering could also be considered.
- Experience of 5-axis machining, Turning, and Milling.
- Ability to edit NC programs and experience with Siemens 840D controls would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience within a manufacturing environment, rotating equipment would be an advantage.

Security Clearance
This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.
