Role Description
The CNC Machinist/Programmer role is a full-time, on-site position located in Newbury. The role involves setting up, programming (hyperMILL), and operating CNC machines (DMG'S & HURCO'S) to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Selecting appropriate tooling
- Adjusting machine parameters
- Monitoring machining operations
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment
- Inspecting finished parts for accuracy and quality
- Identifying and correcting machining issues
- Maintaining detailed production and quality records
- Collaborating with engineers and production team members to optimize processes and meet project deadlines

Qualifications
- Strong skills in machine operation and general machining, with experience working on CNC equipment, ideally DMG'S and HURCO'S
- Proficiency in milling operations and related machining techniques for precision components
- Knowledge of quality control practices, including measurement, inspection, and documentation of parts
- Experience in programming using hyperMILL or similar software
- Hands-on experience working with industrial machinery, including setup, adjustment, and basic maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CNC programs
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and housekeeping in the workshop
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or mechanical engineering environment; CNC programming experience is highly beneficial
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
