CNC Manufacturing Engineer / Supervisor
Rotherham
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer / Supervisor to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Rotherham.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day machining operations, developing manufacturing processes, improving efficiencies, and leading a team of CNC and manual machinists. Working closely with senior production leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of production schedules and operational targets.
- Lead, coach, and support a team of CNC and manual machinists.
- Ensure operators have the tools, equipment, and information required to complete work efficiently.
- Develop, review, and improve manufacturing methods and machining processes.
- Design and implement work-holding solutions.
- Review CAD models and extract manufacturing information.
- Create, edit, verify, and simulate CNC programs.
- Provide technical support and process prove-out assistance on the shop floor.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, tooling sheets, and inspection reports.
- Support continuous improvement activities and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Promote high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping throughout the department.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong machining background combined with supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- CNC machining experience, including milling and turning.
- Experience programming CNC machines.
- Fanuc and/or XYZ control experience.
- Strong CAD/CAM knowledge.
- Previous team leader, supervisor, or cell leader experience.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of inspection methods and measurement techniques.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Experience implementing 6S or workplace organization initiatives.
- Time-served apprenticeship within a toolroom or machining environment.
- Leadership or management qualifications such as ILM.
