The Role: CNC Miller – 5 Axis

As a key member of the machining team, you will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of 5-axis CNC milling centres, producing high-precision components to extremely tight tolerances. • Resolve programming challenges, including complex multi-axis and multi-face machining
  • Select appropriate tooling based on materials and engineering drawings
  • Monitor tool wear and maintain optimal surface finishes
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency and tool life
  • Carry out in-process and final inspections using micrometers, height gauges, and CMM (where applicable)
  • Ensure all components meet drawing specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
  • Complete all required quality and production documentation
  • Diagnose and resolve machining issues such as chatter, dimensional deviation, or poor finish
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report faults
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Operate multiple machines where required to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Contribute to semi-automated or lights-out machining where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate production records and follow established processes
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures when operating high-speed machinery
  • Handle coolant, swarf, and tooling safely and responsibly
  • Work in line with ISO9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
