Job Opportunity in Nottingham
Location: Nottingham
Job type: Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week, rotating morning and afternoon shifts
Pay: A GBP 38,532 per annum / A GBP 19 per hour
Are you an experienced Miller with programming skills looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer that continues to invest in its people, machinery, and capabilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, quality-driven environment where you will be involved in producing high-precision components for a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve machining efficiency
- Manufacture one-off and batch components from engineering drawings
- Select the correct tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job
- Carry out tool changes and make machine offsets where required
- Inspect finished components using a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and height gauges
- Complete first-off inspections and ensure components meet quality standards
- Identify process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase productivity
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment

About You
- Previous experience programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Experience with CAD/CAM software and machine controls such as Haas, Hurco, Mazak, Fanuc, or Matsuura would be highly advantageous, as would an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
