Job Opportunity in Nottingham

Location: Nottingham
Job type: Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week, rotating morning and afternoon shifts
Pay: A GBP 38,532 per annum / A GBP 19 per hour

Are you an experienced Miller with programming skills looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer that continues to invest in its people, machinery, and capabilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, quality-driven environment where you will be involved in producing high-precision components for a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve machining efficiency
  • Manufacture one-off and batch components from engineering drawings
  • Select the correct tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job
  • Carry out tool changes and make machine offsets where required
  • Inspect finished components using a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and height gauges
  • Complete first-off inspections and ensure components meet quality standards
  • Identify process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase productivity
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment

About You

  • Previous experience programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Experience with CAD/CAM software and machine controls such as Haas, Hurco, Mazak, Fanuc, or Matsuura would be highly advantageous, as would an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
