CNC Miller/ CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator

Due to continued growth and investment in new machining facilities, our client is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller/CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator to join their expanding team in Chesterfield. Working within a busy precision engineering environment, you'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality components for a diverse customer base. The Role as CNC Miller/CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator:
You'll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC Mill Turn machinery, producing precision-engineered components to customer specifications. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently to deliver high standards.

Key Duties CNC Miller/CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC Millturn machinery
- Producing precision components from a variety of materials including steels and aluminium alloys.
- Editing and proving CNC programs where required.
- Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Conducting in-process inspection and quality checks.
- Using micrometres, verniers and other measuring equipment to verify dimensions.
- Ensuring components meet customer and quality requirements.
- Maintaining accurate production and inspection records.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.
- Adhering to Health & Safety and quality management procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For a CNC Miller/CNC Turner Programmer Setter Operator with:
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC machine tools.
- Knowledge of Fanuc or Heidenhain controlled machinery.
- Experience within a precision engineering or subcontract machining environment.
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Strong inspection and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Positive attitude and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Desirable
- Experience of Mill/Turn machining centres.
- Multi-machine operating experience.
- Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience working to tight tolerances and complex geometries.
- Familiarity with ISO quality standards and procedures.
