CNC Miller 5axis - Permanent & Contract available - Motorsport

Weekday night shifts & Weekend day shifts available

We currently have a number of CNC Milling roles available based in Thatcham, Berkshire.

We're looking for experienced CNC Millers to join one of our most prestigious Motorsport clients, who are currently going through an exciting period of expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting, operating, and running Milling Machine Centres to produce transmission components.
  • Close attention to detail and a good understanding of machine set up approaches required.
  • Working with highly complex components with strict GD&T adherence.
  • Knowledge of ISO Fanuc G codes required. Understanding of Macros and probing programming language advantageous.
  • Complete Quality Control Plans and other documentation to support high-quality standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate 3/4/5 axis machines.
  • Must have EDM experience.
  • Strong machining background or completed an engineering apprenticeship.
  • Sound working knowledge of engineering/manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read complex technical drawings with GD&Ts.
  • Extensive experience within a Motorsport/Automotive/Aerospace environment is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in setting, editing, and operating vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines, along with practical tool making experience.
  • Ability to visualize finished products and understanding of the properties of the materials worked with (soft and hard steels, aluminium, and magnesium).
  • Great care in proving out programs is needed. Ability to communicate concerns back to the Team Leader/Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Good levels of concentration.
  • Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Self-sufficient attitude, good work ethic, and desire to always improve.

Shifts

  • Weekends: Friday, Sunday: 06:00 - 18:30
  • Nights: Monday - Thursday: 19:00 - 06:00
