CNC Miller

Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: 39 hours per week + regular overtime opportunities

Contek Recruitment is proud to be representing a well-established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer in the search for an experienced CNC Miller to join their growing team.

The Role

As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components to exacting quality standards. Working from detailed engineering drawings, you will ensure parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and in line with customer specifications.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working on complex, low to medium batch work within a quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and programme CNC milling machines.
  • Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
  • Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure all work complies with ISO9001 quality procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and machine care.
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and delivery targets.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' CNC machining experience.
  • At least 3 years' experience using Fanuc control systems.
  • Previous experience operating Haas and Matsuura CNC milling machines.
  • A strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and precision machining techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards and inspection procedures.
  • A reliable, organised, and proactive approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently whilst also contributing positively within a team environment.

Desirable Skills

While not essential, experience with offline programming software such as:

  • OneCNC
  • Edgecam

would be advantageous. Our client is committed to investing in the right individual and is happy to provide training on these systems for candidates with the right machining background and attitude.
