CNC Operator - 1st Shift (Marshfield, Missouri)

- Competitive remuneration, including:
- Base salary range ($X–X p.a., based on location, skills, and experience)
- $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 at 3 months, $500 at 9 months of service)

Job Details Location: Marshfield, Missouri Function: Production Schedule: Monday–Thursday 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (weekend overtime possible) Work Environment: A mix of rural charm and accessibility—Marshfield’s locale includes:
- Outdoor access: 8 nearby lakes, 20-minute drives for hiking/biking, and conservation areas like Niangua and Compton Hollow.
- Urban connectivity: 3-hour drive to Kansas City, St. Louis, or Tulsa; 30 minutes to Springfield.
About The Role Reporting to the Final Department Supervisor, you’ll operate, program, and maintain CNC machines (e.g., Weeke CNC), ensuring high-quality machined components for Armstrong’s commercial/residential ceiling systems. Responsibilities include:

- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce and model safety protocols (e.g., photo eyes, emergency stops) for the work area.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace (slip/trip prevention, tool organization).
- Report safety concerns to leadership.

Machine Operation & Setup:
- Run CNC programs, ensure zero/reference point accuracy, verify tooling, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Monitor GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint specifications.
- Measure and validate parts using calipers/micrometers against quality standards.

Programming & Production:
- Write/promote CNC programs (math, geometry, trigonometry) and debug motion controls.
- First-run inspection: Verify positions, samples, and first-off parts for defects.
- Cut, groove, rework, and optimize processes (e.g., sharpen/replace worn tools).

Maintenance & Documentation:
- Complete preventive maintenance, follow manufacturer guidelines, and log incidents.
- Update production logs and quality records for shift continuity.
- Document discrepancies (tools, machine issues) for management.

Cross-Functional Support:
- Assist teams with miscellaneous production tasks when the CNC is inactive.
- Participate in on-site/off-site training to improve equipment functionality.
- Contribute ideas to improve workflows/processes.

Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and handheld measurement tools.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specs.
- Strong problem-solving and math/geometry aptitude.

- Adherence to safety regulations (OSHA, factory protocols).

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Physical/Dexterity: Frequent standing/walking; lifting up to 25 lbs (occasionally 50 lbs).
- Visual Compatibility: Near/far/vision; color discrimination; depth perception.
- Hearing & Cognitive: Frequent talking/speaking; hearing protection required.
