The Role
Job Title & Position
CNC Operator (2nd Shift) Department: Production Location: Marshfield, Missouri Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. (with potential overtime on Friday/Saturday) Reporting To: Final Department Supervisor
Benefits
- Prorated Benefits: 80 hours vacation, 24 hours sick time, 10 paid holidays, Wellness Day

- Sign-on Bonus: $1,000 ($500 at 3 months, $500 at 9 months of service)
Responsibilities
This position requires diligent operational management of CNC machines, with a focus on safety, precision, quality control, and adherence to production standards. Key responsibilities include:
Core Duties
- Resume and Manage CNC Operations:
- Upload printing programs and load jobs on the Weeke CNC machine
- Set up and run machining operations, ensuring safe and compliant setup (tooling selection, reference points, safety protocols like photo eyes and E-stops)
- Prioritise Accuracy and Quality:
- Validate designs against quality specifications and GD&T tolerances
- Ensure base materials meet specifications before machining
- Operate and maintain precision measuring tools (calipers, etc.)

Program and Machine Parts:
- Configure CNC programs by adjusting zero points, tool offsets, and compensations
- Prove parts by performing test runs and verifying dimensions
- Perform day-to-day machine operations and adjust as needed

Maintain Safety and Sync Across Shifts:
- Implement safety procedures, and troubleshoot risks
- Clean and organise the workspace to prevent hazards
- Document production logs, shift actions, and reports for continuity

Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment:
- Follow manufacturer instructions and perform maintenance
- Detect malfunctions and adjust controls to sustain quality

Assist with Additional Duties:
- Contribute to streamlining process flows when the CNC is inactive
- Undergo vendor-led training to optimise CNC and process functionality
Non-Supervisory
- No supervisory responsibilities required
Travel & Duration
Travel Expected: Minimal; less than 5% of time
Qualifications & Demands
Required Skills & Attributes
- Ability to collaborate safely in a team-focused environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work Safely as per OSHA policies and risk assessment procedures
- Knowledge in interpreting drafting documents and reading blueprints
Desired Background
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes for Armstrong’s products
Education & Experience
Required:
- GED or High School Diploma
Physical Demands
- Regularly required: Standing, walking, bending, carrying or lifting up to 25 lbs (common), occasionally to 50 lbs
- Vision requirements: Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Standards: Normal and highlight need for PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection
