CNC Operator

Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Overtime: Available at 1.5x hourly rate

About the Role

A well-established bespoke joinery manufacturer and multi-trade fit-out specialist is looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join its manufacturing team in Flitwick.
The company delivers high-quality bespoke joinery for commercial, prime residential and leisure projects, working from its own design and manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Homag CNC machinery, including 3-axis and 5-axis routers and beam saws.
  • Run CNC programmes and ensure machined components meet drawings and specifications.
  • Work closely with the production office to ensure efficient and accurate production.
  • Identify machining issues and report problems to management.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly machine checks.
  • Complete routine maintenance and safety checks.
  • Ensure machining tolerances and quality standards are maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider production and joinery teams.

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery, ideally within joinery or woodworking.
  • Experience with 3-axis/5-axis CNC routers and/or beam saws would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of wood machining, joinery machining or joinery construction.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and production information.
  • Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, organised and able to work to deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Microsoft Office experience is desirable but not essential.
