About the Role

Our client is a well-established and highly respected structural steel fabrication and construction business, supplying and erecting fabricated steelwork across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a CNC Operator with experience working with Structural Steel Sections to join their busy Production team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Operator to join a growing and ambitious business, reporting to the CNC/Production Manager and ensuring all parts are processed accurately and on time, whilst ensuring materials are available to the Fabrication Department when required.

CNC Operator - Position Remuneration

  • Salary: £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time

CNC Operators - Position Overview

  • Operate CNC machinery and associated equipment safely and efficiently, including overhead cranes
  • Ensure tooling is correct and fit for purpose before commencing work
  • Process structural steel sections accurately and efficiently, meeting required quality and production targets
  • Complete relevant documentation and record work activity using TnT scanning and Strumis systems
  • Carry out regular accuracy checks and ensure products are correctly marked before passing to the next operation
  • Report any machinery issues to the CNC/Production Manager or Maintenance Department
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and written work instructions
  • Ensure materials are available to the Fabrication Department when required

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing, engineering or structural steel environment
  • Experience Working With Structural Steel Sections Is Essential
  • Good understanding of CNC machinery and production processes
  • Good attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Conscientious, hardworking, flexible and health and safety aware
  • Ability to work to production targets and meet deadlines
  • Proactive approach with a willingness to identify and report any issues promptly
