Start Your Next Chapter as a CNC Operator!
Valmet is looking for a CNC Operator to join the LB Bentley team in Stroud, UK. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of our Machine Shop team, operating CNC machinery used to manufacture high-precision components. You'll play an important role in ensuring quality, safety, and delivery performance while working closely with CNC Setters, Team Leaders, and other production colleagues. If you enjoy hands-on engineering work and take pride in producing quality components, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Operate one or more CNC machines within the Machine Shop, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently.
- Carry out daily machine health checks and maintain accurate production documentation and traveller bookings.
- Read and follow engineering drawings to manufacture components to specification.
- Monitor quality, stamp your own work, and report any non-conformances when identified.
- Help minimise scrap, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and support continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with CNC Setters and Production Team Leaders to communicate production issues and delivery priorities.
- Support and mentor new team members and apprentices when required.

What you'll bring
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
- Basic CNC machine operation and programming knowledge.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- An engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
