Role: CNC Operator/Machinist

Location: Headcorn, Kent

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: GBP28,000 to GBP38,000 plus bonus and overtime

We're looking for a motivated CNC Operator/Machinist to join an established manufacturing team, producing high-quality precision components. If you enjoy working on varied, low-volume, high-precision parts and take pride in producing quality work.

The Role

Working within our busy toolroom, you'll be responsible for machining precision components used for tooling and customer projects. Every day offers something different, with a variety of bespoke and small-batch work.

Your Responsibilities

As a CNC Operator/Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing complex, low-volume parts to exacting quality standards.
  • Operating CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture precision components.
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
  • Helping to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to support tooling, fixtures, and production requirements.

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

  • At least one year's experience within a CNC machining environment.
  • Experience producing small batches of precision-engineered components.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Desirable Skills

It would be advantageous if you also have experience with:

  • Working within an ISO 9001 quality management environment.
  • Sliding head lathes.
  • CAD/CAM programming software.
  • LEAN or 5S manufacturing principles.
  • Designing or manufacturing machine fixtures and jigs.
