A&M Pure Precision is a UK-based engineering company specializing in fast-turnaround manufacturing of bespoke, high-value, low-volume components and tooling for sectors such as aerospace, automotive, Formula 1, motorsport, food production, space, and marine. Operating from 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space, the company focuses on complex precision machining in materials ranging from thermoplastics and aluminum to stainless steel and exotic alloys such as Inconel and Titanium.

A&M Pure Precision offers extensive capabilities, including CNC milling and turning, EDM spark and wire erosion, grinding, fabrication, laser welding, metrology inspection, 3D laser scanning, additive manufacturing, and CAD/CAM programming. The company holds multiple industry-recognized accreditations, including AS9100 / BSEN9100, NADCAP AS7003, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001:2015, and has received several awards for innovation, manufacturing excellence, and employee wellbeing.

Role Description

The CNC Programmer and Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in the West Midlands. In this role, the individual programs, sets up, and operates CNC milling and turning machines to produce precision components to exact specifications, working with a range of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, and high-performance alloys.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting engineering drawings and CAD/CAM data
  • Selecting appropriate tooling and machining strategies
  • Performing in-process inspections
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Troubleshooting machining issues
  • Optimizing cycle times
  • Collaborating with engineering and quality teams
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes

Accurate documentation, adherence to quality and environmental procedures, and care of equipment and workspace are integral parts of the day-to-day work.

Qualifications

  • Ability to program, set, and operate CNC milling and turning machines, ideally with experience in 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, models, and CAD/CAM data for precision manufacturing.
  • Skills in using metrology tools and CMM or other inspection equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Experience working with a variety of engineering materials, including plastics, aluminum, stainless steel, and exotic alloys such as Inconel and Titanium.
  • Understanding of machining processes such as turning, grinding, and EDM, with a focus on high-precision and low-volume production.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and best practices in aerospace, automotive, or similar demanding sectors.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to health,
