Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a CNC Programmer / Setter – Milling & Turning based in the Greater Coventry Area. The role involves programming CNC machines for milling and turning operations, interpreting technical drawings, and setting up machines with appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials. Day-to-day tasks include optimizing machining programs, performing test runs, monitoring production, and adjusting parameters to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes. The CNC Programmer / Setter will inspect components to ensure quality standards, perform routine maintenance checks, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and reduce downtime. The role also requires accurate documentation of setups, programs, and production data, while maintaining a safe and organized work area.

Qualifications

- Strong CNC Programming and Programming skills for milling and turning operations.
- Proficiency in Machining and Milling, including setting tools, fixtures, and workholding.
- Ability to read and interpret Technical Drawing and engineering documentation.
- Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, or similar) and CAM software is beneficial.
- Background in precision engineering or manufacturing, with a focus on close tolerances and quality control.
- Understanding of safety procedures, workshop best practices, and basic machine maintenance.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, machining, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
