CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer

We are working with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer that is looking to appoint an experienced CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer to join their production team based in Dudley.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist with strong turning experience to play a key role in the manufacture of high-quality precision components. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC lathes, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC lathes, including loading materials, installing tooling, and securing workpieces
- Programme, set, and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components to engineering drawings
- Optimise machining processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and cycle times
- Carry out tool offsets, machine adjustments, and first-off inspections
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges, comparators, and height gauges
- Complete in-process quality checks and support CMM inspection where required (training provided)
- Produce accurate quality and production documentation
- Work closely with Production Supervisors and Quality teams to achieve daily production targets
- Support and provide guidance to junior operators where required
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards, company procedures, and Health & Safety regulations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing department

Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a CNC turning environment
- Proven experience setting, operating, and programming CNC lathes
- Experience with twin spindle and bar-fed CNC lathes would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of G-Code programming
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- CAD/CAM experience would be advantageous, although training can be provided
- Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification preferred
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality components
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Package Details
- Salary negotiable depending on experience
- Company Pension
- Ongoing training and development
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:15 / Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
- Overtime available
