CNC Programmer

📍 Adlington, UK | 🕒 Full-time (39 hours per week, Monday–Friday)

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team.

This is a key role responsible for developing and optimising CNC programs to support efficient, accurate machining operations. You will play an important part in ensuring high-quality production, reducing downtime, and continuously improving manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Process Development

  • Develop and optimise CNC programs using CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications to generate accurate toolpaths
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies

Validation & Continuous Improvement

  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to identify and resolve potential issues
  • Maintain and update program libraries and supporting documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality

Collaboration & Production Support

  • Work closely with production, quality, and design teams to ensure manufacturability
  • Provide technical support to CNC machinists during setup and production
  • Operate CNC machines when required for trials or to support production needs

Health, Safety & Standards

  • Promote a strong safety culture, including BBSO and near-miss reporting
  • Ensure safe working practices and support stop-work authority initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of product developments and ensure processes remain aligned

Essential

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in CNC programming within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in CAM software and strong understanding of G-code and CNC operations
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and tooling
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Competence in Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality processes
  • Experience with offline programming and process optimisation
