Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am-1:00pm

A world-leading aerospace component manufacturer is looking for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator - Milling to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Milling professional with strong Mazak machining experience, who can confidently work from engineering drawings and manufacture high-quality, small-batch aerospace components to tight tolerances.

The Role

As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machinery and producing components accurately and efficiently to customer and engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture small-batch components from engineering drawings
  • Working to tight tolerances and agreed production timescales
  • Setting a variety of CNC machine tools for operators when required
  • Using a wide range of precision measuring equipment to inspect components
  • Ensuring manufactured components are correctly protected and prepared for transit
  • Mentoring and supporting new members of staff where required
  • Completing all manufacturing paperwork accurately and correctly
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping throughout the manufacturing process

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive CNC Milling experience is essential
  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC machines
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
  • Confident using precision measuring equipment
  • Experience working to tight tolerances
  • Mazak CNC machining centre experience would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to work confidently with both Metric and Imperial measurements
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English would be advantageous
  • Ideally, you will have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant additional training courses
