CNC Setter Operator | Aerospace & Defence | South Oxfordshire
Permanent | Onsite | Competitive salary + excellent benefits
Most machinists never see where their parts end up. Here, you'll know: the components you make go into safety-critical systems where failure isn't an option.
My client is a long-established UK aerospace and defence manufacturer supplying customers worldwide. It's a business with decades of history behind it and a long-term commitment to its people, which shows in how they invest in training and how long people stay.
The role
You'll join a specialist small-batch machining cell producing safety-critical components. Low volume, high mix and tight tolerances. You won't be feeding a production line; you'll set, run, inspect and finish your own work, and own the quality of what leaves your cell.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
