Yorkshire Precision Engineering Ltd (YPEL) is a well-established subcontract precision engineering company based in Keighley. We manufacture high precision turned and milled components for customers in industries including Medical, Oil & Gas, Space, Brewing, Hydraulics and General Engineering.


We're looking for an experienced CNC Turner to work in our fixed head section.

The Role

You'll be setting and operating CNC Fixed head lathes with Fanuc & Mitsubishi controls, producing high precision batch work ranging from around 50-off through to larger production runs. The machines are Doosan TT1800SY, Citizen Miyano BNE65MYY, Citizen Miyano BNJ51SY7, Citizen Miyano BNJ42SY.

The work is varied, using a wide range of materials including stainless steels, brass, aluminium, plastics and exotic alloys.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC lathes
  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Confident using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.
  • Someone who takes pride in producing quality work and can work on their own initiative.
  • Experience using twin spindle lathes is an advantage.

Programming experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
