Are you an experienced CNC Turner with Fanuc setting and programming experience? Would you like to join an established precision engineering company offering a permanent position, an early Friday finish and regular overtime opportunities?

Covington Developments is looking for a fully skilled CNC Turner - Setter, Operator and Programmer to join its Turning section in Coventry.

Our Turning section uses Fanuc-controlled CNC machines capable of producing precision components to extremely tight tolerances.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components to the required specifications.

This role requires an experienced CNC Turner who can work accurately with minimal supervision, check their own work and maintain consistently high standards throughout production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate and programme CNC turning machines
  • Programme and operate Fanuc-controlled machinery
  • Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
  • Produce components to specified tolerances
  • Inspect and measure your own work throughout production
  • Make adjustments where required to maintain accuracy
  • Complete machine setups with minimal supervision
  • Maintain quality and production standards
  • Keep machines and working areas clean and organised
  • Follow company health and safety procedures

What We're Looking For

You will need:

  • Strong CNC turning experience
  • Experience setting, operating and programming CNC lathes
  • Good working knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • The ability to work accurately with minimal supervision
  • Experience reading engineering drawings
  • Confidence using precision measuring equipment
  • The ability to work to close tolerances
  • A strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
  • Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • A reliable and professional approach

Desirable Experience

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Five years or more of CNC machining experience
  • Experience producing low-volume or precision-engineered components

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am-4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:00am-12:00pm
  • Overtime is available when required
