Contek Recruitment are representing their client, a well-established and forward-thinking precision engineering manufacturer, in the search for an experienced CNC Turner to join their growing machining team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected subcontract precision engineering business that continues to invest heavily in modern CNC machinery, tooling and inspection equipment. Manufacturing high-precision components for a wide range of industries, the company has built an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and continuous improvement. They operate within an ISO 9001 accredited environment and pride themselves on producing components to the highest standards.

We are looking for a skilled CNC Turner who can confidently programme, set and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, producing complex precision components from engineering drawings while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

The Role

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines using Fanuc controls
  • Producing first-off components and making programme adjustments where required
  • Manufacturing high-precision components in a variety of batch sizes
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Selecting appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds to maximise efficiency
  • Inspecting components using a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges
  • Maintaining tight tolerances and excellent surface finishes
  • Identifying process improvements to reduce cycle times and improve productivity
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner
  • Able to programme, set and operate CNC lathes independently
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls is essential
  • Ability to edit and optimise existing CNC programmes
  • Experience machining a range of materials including steels, stainless steels, aluminium and other engineering alloys
  • Confident reading engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of tooling, cutting data and machining practices
  • Experience using a range of inspection equipment
  • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem solving
  • A positive attitude and excellent team ethic

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am - 2:00pm
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day

Holiday

  • 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
