Are you an experienced CNC Turner with strong Fanuc or Mazak experience looking for your next opportunity within precision engineering?

Do you enjoy programming, setting and operating CNC machinery while producing high-quality precision components?

We’re supporting a specialist manufacturing business who are looking to recruit a CNC Turner to join their operations team.

What’s the role all about?

As a CNC Turner, you’ll be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture high-precision components to exact specifications.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced precision engineering environment where quality, accuracy and attention to detail are critical.

You’ll work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Programme, set and operate CNC Fanuc and/or Mazak Lathes
  • Write and optimise CNC programs from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Set up machines including tooling, fixtures and raw materials
  • Prove out new programs and ensure successful machine operation
  • Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances
  • Carry out in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
  • Work closely with engineers and machinists to resolve production challenges
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality procedures

What you’ll need

To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Bring

  • Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment

Desirable

  • Experience with Mazak machinery
  • Engineering apprenticeship or ONC/HNC qualification
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • CAD/CAM software experience, ideally Fusion 360
  • Experience using CMM equipment or QCT software
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards
  • Exposure to continuous improvement activities
