CNC Turner – Setter / Programmer

Northants Precision Ltd – Kislingbury, Northamptonshire (NN7 4UF)

Due to continued growth and an increasing volume of work, Northants Precision Ltd is looking for an experienced CNC Turner at Setter / Programmer level to join our expanding team.

Established in 2018, Northants Precision has invested heavily in the latest CNC machinery, technology, and inspection equipment. Based at our brand-new facility in Kislingbury, Northamptonshire, you will work in a clean, modern environment manufacturing high-precision components, predominantly for the Formula 1 and high-performance engineering sectors.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in precision subcontract machining. Experience within Formula 1, aerospace, medical, or other highly regulated, quality-critical industries would be highly advantageous.

The Role

The successful candidate will be an experienced CNC Turner with strong Fanuc programming and setting skills, capable of producing high-quality, complex components to demanding customer specifications. Experience with Haas and/or Citizen machinery would also be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and job sheets accurately.
  • Set and operate CNC turning machines, including probing systems, tooling, and offsets.
  • Understand and use Fanuc G-code programming.
  • Edit and optimise existing CNC programs.
  • Identify and resolve machining issues during production.
  • Work with a variety of exotic, difficult-to-machine, and heat-treated materials.
  • Inspect components using a range of precision hand measuring equipment.
  • Use inspection-room equipment and undertake additional training where required for more advanced inspection machinery.
  • Identify potential defects and take corrective action before components reach NCR level.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Take ownership and pride in the components you produce.
  • Work effectively as part of a close-knit and supportive team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
