Skilled CNC Turner

Location: Kensworth, near Dunstable
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: 39 hours per week + overtime paid at 1.5x
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Contek Recruitment Solutions are representing their client, a well-established and forward-thinking precision engineering business based in Kensworth, near Dunstable.

With over 50 years of experience and operating to AS9100 standards, our client has built an excellent reputation within highly demanding sectors including motorsport, aerospace, and medical precision engineering.

They are now looking for an experienced Skilled CNC Turner to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a modern, growing engineering environment where quality, precision, and teamwork are at the heart of the business.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and hands-on CNC Turner, capable of setting, programming, and operating CNC turning machinery, while maintaining the high standards expected within a precision engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming CNC turning machinery using offline CAD/CAM
  • Setting and operating CNC lathes
  • Reading and interpreting detailed technical engineering drawings
  • Ensuring components are manufactured consistently to specification
  • Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the machining process
  • Working to delivery dates and internal production milestones
  • Identifying and resolving machining and production issues
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure production targets are achieved
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient working environment
  • Taking a proactive and forward-thinking approach to production

About You

  • Extensive CNC turning experience
  • Strong CNC programming, setting, and operating skills
  • Experience using CAD/CAM systems
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of precision engineering and quality requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good computer literacy
  • Experience using CMM equipment would be advantageous
