Role Description
The CNC Turner/ Operator will operate CNC lathes to produce precision components to engineering drawings and specifications in an on-site workshop located in Aldershot. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting technical drawing, running production batches while monitoring quality during machining. The role involves using measuring instruments to inspect finished parts, maintaining equipment, and following health and safety procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment. The CNC Turner/ Operator will collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to meet delivery schedules, troubleshoot machining issues, and support continuous improvement of processes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Aldershot.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and machining instructions.
- Practical experience operating CNC turning machines, ideally in a precision engineering environment.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges) and basic inspection techniques.
- Understanding of cutting tools, materials, feeds and speeds, and machining best practices.
- Commitment to health and safety standards and maintaining a tidy, organized work area.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a focus on producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and time-management skills.
- Previous experience in mechanical or industrial engineering, and relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining or engineering are beneficial.
