JOB PURPOSE
To operate CNC/Manual Turning machines in accordance with Work Instructions whilst adhering to safe working practices, to produce products meeting all quality specifications whilst satisfying productivity requirements and in compliance with engineering drawings and associated specifications.
Ensure that equipment is maintained, relevant records are up to date and that all processes work effectively to ensure that the business can fulfil its aims.
JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Create, download, edit, archive, read and interpret CNC programs.
- Ability to undertake bench fitting activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate tooling.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate cutting & machining conditions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of using measuring equipment.
- Use CNC/manual Turning machines.
- Inspection and recording of all relevant dimensions.
- Completion of all documentation and record labour bookings.
- Demonstrate engagement with other Team Members.
- Basic machine maintenance.
- Provide support and training to other team members when required.
- Any other duties as and when required such as site maintenance and ensuring surrounding work area is maintained to a high standard of tidy/cleanliness.
- Involvement in 5S & Continuous Improvement activities throughout the business unit, contributing to business improvement meetings and projects as and when required.
