Gapeless: Building a Fashion Empire for Fuller-Bust Women

There are millions of women who have learned to accept that fashion doesn’t fit them properly. Gaping shirts. Pulling buttons. Dresses that fit the bust but drown the waist. Blazers that won’t close. Clothes designed around a body that doesn’t exist for them.

Gapeless is building the alternative. We are creating a fashion company specifically designed around the fuller-bust woman—starting with our signature button-down shirts and expanding into a broader ecosystem of beautifully designed, technically considered womenswear.

The Ambition

The ambition is much bigger than a shirt. We want to build the defining global brand for fuller-bust fashion. And we’re looking for one exceptional person to build it with us.

We are Looking for a Co-Founder / Founding Partner

Someone who has already demonstrated that they can build, invest, scale, sell, negotiate, or lead—and who now wants to put those capabilities into something of their own.

You might be:

  • A former founder looking for your next company
  • A VC/PE professional who wants to move from investing in companies to building one
  • A senior fashion or retail executive who knows how brands scale
  • A growth operator who has taken a consumer business from £1m to £10m+
  • A commercial leader with an exceptional retail, partnership, or distribution network
  • A product or e-commerce leader who understands how to turn customer insight into a scalable consumer proposition

Your background matters. But your ability to build matters more.

Why Gapeless?

The fashion industry has spent decades segmenting consumers by size. We believe the bigger opportunity is to segment around how clothes actually need to be constructed for different bodies. Fuller-bust women are not simply a “plus-size” customer. A woman wearing a UK 10 DD and a woman wearing a UK 10 G may have dramatically different fit requirements—despite wearing the same size clothing. That creates an enormous product and market opportunity. Gapeless is building around this insight.

Our Starting Point

Fuller-bust-friendly shirts. But the long-term opportunity extends across:

  • Shirts
  • Dresses
  • Blazers
  • Tailoring
  • Workwear
  • Occasionwear
  • Accessories
  • Technology
  • Data

We want Gapeless to become synonymous with fit for fuller-bust women.

The Person We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who sees this opportunity and immediately starts asking:

  • How big can this become?
  • How do we build a £100m company?

You should be comfortable moving between a boardroom, a factory floor, an investor meeting, and a customer conversation. You should be equally comfortable discussing:

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Potential Mandate

Your exact role will depend on your background. We are deliberately not looking for a conventional job description. We are looking for someone capable of taking company-level ownership. Potential areas include:

01 — Commercial & Growth

Build the machine that takes Gapeless from early traction to scale.

You could own:

  • DTC growth
  • Retail strategy
  • Wholesale
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Customer acquisition
  • International expansion
  • Revenue strategy
  • Pricing and unit economics

02 — Capital & Strategy

Help turn Gapeless into an institutionally investable company.

You could lead:

  • Seed fundraising
  • Investor relationships
  • Financial strategy
  • Investor narrative
  • Strategic capital
  • Family office relationships
  • Venture capital relationships
  • Expansion strategy
  • M&A / strategic opportunities over time

03 — Brand & Product

Turn an underserved customer into a global consumer movement.

You could shape:

  • Product roadmap
  • Brand architecture
  • Customer experience
  • Community
  • Marketing
  • Product-market fit
  • New categories
  • International positioning

04 — Operations & Scale

Build the infrastructure behind the brand.

You could own:

  • Manufacturing
  • Supply chain
  • Inventory
  • Technology
  • Systems
  • Team building
  • Operational efficiency
  • International fulfilment

What Makes You Different?

We are particularly interested in people who have:

  • Built something
  • Scaled something
  • Invested in something
  • Sold something
  • Transformed something

Or have operated at a level where you’ve had meaningful responsibility for doing so.

You may have spent the last decade at a major investment firm. You may have built a fashion brand. You may have scaled a consumer marketplace. You may have led growth at a high-growth company. You may have advised founders and spent years thinking about what makes businesses exceptional. Now you want to be on the other side of the table. Building.

What We Value

  • Ambition: You think internationally from day one.
  • Commercial judgement: You know the difference between activity and progress.
  • Intellectual horsepower: You can understand a complex problem quickly and turn it into an actionable strategy.
  • Bias to action: You don’t need a 30-page strategy document before making the first phone call.
  • Resourcefulness: You can create £1m of value without having £1m of resources.
  • Taste: You understand that exceptional consumer companies require both commercial discipline and cultural relevance.
  • Resilience: Building companies is difficult. You understand that already.
  • Ownership: You behave like an owner because you will be one.

What We Are Offering

This is an equity-led founding opportunity. The right person will receive a meaningful ownership position in Gapeless, reflecting:

  • Experience
  • Commitment
  • Responsibilities
  • Network
  • Strategic value
  • Capital contribution, where applicable
  • Stage of involvement

There is no predetermined “employee compensation package” because this isn’t an employee role. The objective is to create a structure where both founders are meaningfully aligned with the long-term value of the company. As the company grows, so does the value of what you own.

The Next 12–24 Months

We believe the next phase should focus relentlessly on:

  • Product-market fit
  • Repeatable customer acquisition
  • Revenue growth
  • Retail expansion
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Seed capital
  • Team building
  • Category expansion
  • International opportunity

The person joining us will have a significant influence over how we execute this roadmap.

Why You?

Because Gapeless doesn’t need another employee. It needs another owner. Someone who will challenge assumptions. Someone who will open doors. Someone who will make introductions. Someone who will look at a £50k problem and figure out how to solve it. Someone who can sit across from an investor and articulate the billion-pound opportunity. Someone who can walk into a retailer and negotiate distribution. Someone who can look at a product and say: “This isn’t good enough yet.” Someone who cares deeply about the customer. And someone who is willing to build through the messy, uncertain, exhilarating early years of a company.

The Question

The question isn’t: “Would you like to work for Gapeless?”

The question is: “Would you like to build Gapeless?”

If the answer is yes, we want to hear from you.

Apply

Send us:

  1. Your CV or LinkedIn profile
  2. A short note explaining why you believe Gapeless could become a category-defining company
  3. The capability you believe you could bring that would materially change the trajectory of the business
  4. Your answer to this question:

If you became Co-Founder of Gapeless tomorrow, what would you do in your first 90 days?

We are deliberately keeping the application short. Exceptional people don’t need to write an essay to demonstrate exceptional thinking.
