Co-Founder & Strategic Investor — Somus

Location: UAE / Remote
Type: Co-Founder / Equity
Company: Somus

About Somus

Somus is building a modern social platform designed for the next generation of online communities, content, and interaction.

We are looking for a serious co-founder and strategic investor to join at an early stage and help take Somus from its current stage into a scalable, high-growth company.

This is not a traditional job and it is not a passive investment opportunity.

We are looking for someone who wants to build, invest, take ownership, and create significant value alongside the founding team.

The Role

As Co-Founder & Strategic Investor, you will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the company's growth.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing strategic direction and business leadership.
  • Contributing capital to accelerate Somus's development and growth.
  • Helping define and execute the company's business model.
  • Building strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities.
  • Supporting fundraising and investor relationships.
  • Helping develop go-to-market and user acquisition strategies.
  • Recruiting and building a strong team.
  • Taking ownership of major business decisions and outcomes.
  • Actively participating in the company rather than operating as a passive shareholder.

Investment Requirement

This role requires a genuine willingness to invest.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We are specifically looking for candidates who have the financial capacity and intention to invest in Somus, subject to due diligence, valuation, and mutually agreed terms.

Candidates who are only looking for a salaried position, advisory title, or equity without financial commitment are not the target profile for this role.

You must be comfortable discussing:

  • Your potential investment range.
  • Your investment timeline.
  • Your expected role in the company.
  • Your expectations regarding equity and ownership.
  • Your ability to participate in future funding rounds.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Entrepreneurial and commercially minded.
  • Comfortable taking calculated risks.
  • Financially capable of making a meaningful investment.
  • Experienced in business, technology, startups, investment, sales, marketing, or scaling companies.
  • Highly accountable and execution-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in an early-stage environment.
  • Able to make decisions and move quickly.
  • Interested in building a company for the long term.

Strongly Preferred

Experience in one or more of:

  • Technology / SaaS
  • Social media or consumer platforms
  • Startups
  • Venture investment
  • Fundraising
  • Business development
  • Digital marketing
  • Product growth
  • Technology operations

Important: This Is Not for Everyone

Please do not apply if:

  • You are looking for a conventional 9–5 job.
  • You are not prepared to invest capital.
  • You are looking for equity without meaningful contribution.
  • You expect the founding team to do all the work.
  • You are uncomfortable with uncertainty and startup risk.
  • You are primarily interested in the title rather than building the company.
  • You cannot commit meaningful time and attention to the venture.

How to Apply

Please apply only if you are genuinely interested in becoming a co-founder, investor, and active contributor to Somus.

Candidates will be asked about their:

  • Background and experience.
  • Previous entrepreneurial or investment experience.
  • Expected contribution to Somus.
  • Potential investment range.
  • Availability and level of involvement.
  • Long-term vision for the company.

If you're looking for a job, this probably isn't the right opportunity.
