About The Role

Join us on our transformational journey as we seek a visionary Managing Director – UK & Ireland to co-lead our operations and accelerate growth in the renewable energy sector. Ideally based in our Edinburgh office, you will take full responsibility for shaping strategy, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional results across wind and solar projects.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the COO, operating within a two–Managing Director structure, with full P&L accountability and responsibility for a team of approximately 70 employees across the UK and Ireland. You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, commercial success, and strategic expansion in one of the most dynamic renewable energy markets.

This role carries full responsibility for the execution and delivery side of the organisation, with a particular focus on EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), project execution, operational excellence, and scalable delivery capability across the UK and Ireland.

What You Will Do

  • Jointly lead and manage all aspects of the company’s operations, with primary responsibility for EPC, project execution, construction delivery, and operational performance across renewable energy projects (wind & solar)
  • Oversee the project lifecycle from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Strategically develop and execute the company’s business plans to meet the targets set by the Board, shareholders, and stakeholders
  • Oversee all execution-related functions including project management, construction management, engineering coordination, supply chain, procurement, and QHSE
  • Take key decisions on operational matters including resource planning, delivery strategy, project risk mitigation, health and safety, compliance, and execution performance
  • Manage day-to-day operations, balancing commercial and technical priorities, with a focus on efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate closely with the co-Managing Director to align project execution with commercial strategy, business development, and market expansion objectives
  • Lead business development efforts by fostering relationships with potential clients, contract negotiations, and overseeing the development of new projects
  • Develop and manage budgets for both the company and individual projects, ensuring financial targets and delivery KPIs are met and exceeded where possible
  • Promote proactive risk management, identifying potential risks to project timelines, costs, and company reputation, and taking proactive measures to mitigate them
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal guidelines, both for internal processes and external operations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement innovation, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the renewable energy sector by seeking and implementing practice
  • Build and lead high-performing teams, including recruitment, training, and development, to meet the company’s growing demands and achieve business goals
  • Collaborate with the global network within the company, working closely with international peers across APAC, EMEA, and America to drive growth in the global renewable energy market
  • Represent the company in external forums such as exhibitions, trade fairs, and industry events to enhance brand visibility and partnerships
  • Provide strategic insights and advice to the Board, preparing reports and decision memos regarding market trends, delivery performance, project developments, and business opportunities
  • Take full responsibility for QHSE, ensuring robust health and safety systems are implemented for employees and stakeholders, while proactively mitigating risks associated with renewable energy projects

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
