Co-opted Trustee - Development
This new voluntary role will work closely with the Chief Executive and Head of Development, supporting our work to secure donations from charitable trusts, foundations, businesses, and government supporters.
Role Duties
- Act as an ambassador and adviser to the Trust Board and senior leadership to strengthen its approach to fundraising and income generation
- Help us create and then chair a group of volunteer advocates
- Agree a list of prospective trust, government, corporate, and/or individual supporters
- To speak at cultivation and stewardship events

Wider Trustee Duties
- To ensure that the Charity complies with its governing documents
- To contribute to setting the strategic direction and policy of the Charity
- Protect and manage the charitable assets
- To ensure the Charity manages its resources effectively
Appointment Term and Time Commitment
- The term of the appointment is 3 years, subject to annual renewal confirmed by mutual agreement, with a maximum term of 9 years
- The successful candidate should expect to donate 5 hours per month of time.
- Ongoing commitment includes:
- Attendance at board meetings (evenings up to 5 times per year)
- Chair 2 meetings of our Development Advocates

The trustee role is not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
