Route: Bangor to Aberystwyth
Pay: £15.80 per hour
Hours: 38 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Are you a qualified PCV driver who enjoys driving, meeting customers and providing a safe and professional service?
We’re looking for Qualified Coach Drivers to join the Arriva Group team at our Bangor depot, operating a dedicated coach service between Bangor and Aberystwyth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional driver who takes pride in their driving, enjoys delivering excellent customer service and is comfortable working a 5 days out of 7 shift pattern.
Importantly, this role operates on one dedicated route: Bangor to Aberystwyth, giving you the opportunity to become highly familiar with the route, the communities it serves and the customers who travel with us.
What you'll be doing
- Safely and professionally driving the Bangor to Aberystwyth route.
- Working 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including weekends and potentially bank holidays.
- Completing all required vehicle safety checks and reporting defects appropriately.
- Complying with road safety requirements, company procedures and relevant transport legislation.
- Using your Tachocard correctly and confidently, ensuring full compliance with drivers' hours and tachograph regulations.
- Providing a welcoming, professional and customer-focused service throughout every journey.
- Assisting customers with queries and providing support throughout their journey.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of luggage, including some manual lifting where required.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional vehicle environment.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the service.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for professional drivers who put safety, reliability and customer service at the heart of everything they do.
Essential requirements
- A valid PCV Category D licence.
- A valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
- Your own valid Tachocard.
- A good working knowledge of tachographs and drivers' hours regulations.
- Previous experience driving passenger vehicles, ideally buses or coaches.
- A strong commitment to safe and responsible driving.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The flexibility to work 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.
- Comfortable undertaking some manual lifting, including handling customer luggage.
- A professional, reliable and approachable manner.

This isn't a role where you'll constantly be travelling to different destinations. You'll operate on the dedicated Bangor to Aberystwyth route, allowing you to build excellent knowledge of the journey and the communities along the route while developing strong relationships with regular customers.
