Job Title: Code Coach Assistant

Job Summary
Jam Coding is the largest provider of Computing and Coding education to primary school aged children in the UK.
We are looking for young people to help us launch Jam Coding in York & Harrogate!
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education and computing, while inspiring young learners to explore the exciting world of technology.
You do not need to be a “Coder” (full training is given), and you will have the opportunity to work with children in the local community whilst gaining valuable employability skills for your CV.

Responsibilities
- Assist lead instructors during after-school clubs and workshops to ensure smooth and effective learning experiences
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils, helping them understand coding concepts and troubleshoot issues
- Communicate clearly and positively with students, parents, and team members to foster a supportive classroom environment
- Help prepare educational materials, coding exercises, and activity setups for sessions
- Monitor student engagement and progress, providing feedback to instructors for tailored instruction
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging space that motivates students to explore the world of programming confidently

Qualifications
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to different children’s needs
- IT savvy/literate and willing to learn primary school level coding concepts and learning methods
- Reliable, energetic, and motivated to support children’s growth in a fast-paced learning environment
