About the Role
We are looking for a Coffee House (Food & Beverage) Manager to join our team. The role is 36 hours per week, full time and permanent.
About Down House
Down House belonged to the great scientist Charles Darwin, who lived here for 40 years until his death in 1882. After moving to the house in 1842, Darwin and his wife, Emma, remodelled the house and its extensive gardens, which Darwin used as an open-air laboratory. It was here that Darwin developed his theory of evolution by natural selection and wrote his ground-breaking work On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection (1859).

Responsibilities
This is a great opportunity for an experienced food and beverage professional to lead the catering operations at the Down House tearoom.
We are looking for a natural leader with significant experience of delivering an F&B operation and managing a diverse team to perform successfully.
You will oversee all aspects of the F&B Operations including food safety, cost controls, and compliance. You will line manage a team of Food & Beverage Assistants and will conduct PDRs, produce rotas and perform other relevant team management duties.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a hospitality environment, who can motivate a team to excel and someone who is incredibly organised and efficient. You will have significant experience in a hospitality background and have demonstratable experience of previously managing an F&B outlet in a similar environment.
