Colleague Engagement Manager, Communications
Are you a talented communicator who can take complex information and make it clear, useful and engaging? Do you enjoy working with colleagues and leaders to find the real story, shape strong content and deliver communications that make a difference? Can you manage several priorities without losing sight of quality or the audience?
We’re building a new Business Banking Engagement team to help bring our strategy to life for colleagues and customers.
As Colleague Engagement Manager, Communications, you’ll help deliver clear, connected and engaging communications across Business Banking. You’ll work across colleague and customer activity, developing content, managing communication plans and helping ensure the right messages reach the right people at the right time.
This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys making things happen and wants to help shape a new communications capability.
The Business Banking Engagement team brings together communications, events, colleague engagement, culture and learning and development.
Within the Communications team, we’ll improve how Business Banking plans and delivers both colleague and customer communications.
For colleagues, that means clearer narratives, more engaging content, stronger leadership communications and better coordinated channels. For customers, it means helping business teams and Marketing create communications that are purposeful, consistent and aligned with the wider customer journey.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Glasgow, Edinburgh, London or Northampton office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. Alternatively, you'll be located at our Edinburgh hub. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here [https://nationwide-jobs.co.uk/life-at-nationwide/rewarding-you].
Whilst these locations are where we are primarily looking to fill the role, if you’re an internal applicant based in a different location we would welcome your application and if successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this could work for this specific role. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
