About The Role
The Collections And Delivery Driver position in Newcastle upon Tyne involves sorting mail and parcels at the local office before loading a vehicle for your round. This temporary role, paying £15.06 per hour, requires working up to 35 hours weekly between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability. You will cover routes on foot and by van, walking up to eight miles daily while using a handheld device to track deliveries. The role suits those who prefer working independently outdoors and enjoy regular customer contact. Starting on 26/10/2026, you will provide a dependable service for a recognised national brand. Prior driving experience and a valid licence are essential.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Load & Go: Start your day at the local delivery office sorting and loading your vehicle.
- On the Move: Deliver letters and parcels by foot and vehicle, walking up to 8 miles a day.
- Tech-Savvy Delivery: Use a handheld device for route navigation and signature captures.
- Hands-On Work: Lift and carry mailbags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg), using delivery trolleys when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- A full UK manual driving licence (maximum of 6 points; clean preferred).
- Comfortable working outdoors through rain, shine, or snow.
- Excellent time management and customer service skills.
- Previous Driving/ Delivering experience would be great (but isn’t essential!)

Successful drivers are required to attend an Open Day on Tuesday 28th September.
The Open Day will provide candidates with the opportunity to meet the depot team and learn more about the role. Depending on the number of candidates attending, assessments may also take place on the day.
Attendance is mandatory. Candidates who do not attend the Open Day will not be considered for the position, as the depot wishes to meet all prospective drivers before any job offer is made.
