What It's Like To Work Here

High on the ridge of the Cotswold escarpment, Newark Park is a picturesque estate, with astonishing views and an historic home at its heart. The house began life as a Tudor hunting lodge and under successive owners has undergone significant changes. We are a small team of staff and volunteers who together take care of this remarkable place and bring it to life for our visitors. The Collections and House Officer plays an important part in that team.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Collections and House Officer, you’ll work closely with the Senior Visitor Experience Officer to be responsible for opening the house every day, and making sure there are enough people in the right places to give visitors a consistently good experience.

You will be line managed by the Property Operations Manager and supported by the Collections and House Manager who works across the Property Group of five properties. You'll be responsible for routine conservation, preventive conservation and the annual programme of deep cleaning. Your attention and expertise will help to ensure excellent standards of care and presentation throughout the house. At Newark we encourage visitors to have a relaxed visit and as part of your role you will work with the Visitor Experience team to present the property in new and innovative ways.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
