About the Role

Are you someone who enjoys helping people find practical solutions while delivering a great customer experience? As a Collections Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting customers who may be experiencing financial difficulties. Through meaningful conversations, active listening, and a tailored approach, you'll help customers understand their options and agree realistic repayment solutions. Working in a supportive, collaborative environment, you'll balance customer needs, client requirements, and regulatory standards to achieve fair outcomes.

This is a hybrid role based from our Newcastle office at Quorum Business Park two days per week with the rest working from home. Working patterns operate between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 4pm on Saturdays, with time off in lieu for weekend working.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing inbound and outbound customer communications relating to outstanding debt across phone, email and digital channels.
  • Taking ownership of customer accounts, progressing cases through to resolution and ensuring accurate record keeping.
  • Understanding customers' financial circumstances through effective questioning, active listening and affordability assessments.
  • Identifying vulnerability, providing appropriate support and applying suitable forbearance options where required.
  • Agreeing realistic and sustainable repayment arrangements that deliver positive customer outcomes.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, quality standards and complaint handling procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
