Who we are:
We're one of Europe's fastest-growing fintech companies – on a mission to create the world's most empowering way to pay. We launched the product in 2020 and achieved double unicorn status, valued at $2 billion, and since then have taken on more than 6 million customers. Our mission is to become the best way to pay for anything, anywhere and say goodbye to credit costs for everyone. This is huge. Want to join us?
About the Role:
This is a great opportunity to join Zilch’s Risk team in a role that helps shape an important part of the customer lifecycle. As Collections Strategy Analyst, you will support how Zilch manages customers in arrears, improves recovery outcomes, and balances performance with fair and effective customer treatment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Collections Strategy, this role will be focused on using data to find opportunities, develop practical recommendations, and help deliver improvements across the full collections journey. You’ll work across early arrears, later-stage collections, external partner activity, and recoveries, building a strong understanding of what drives performance and where we can improve.
While performance monitoring and analysis will be an important foundation of the role, the real opportunity is to turn insight into action. You’ll be encouraged to identify areas of opportunity, shape proposals, support execution, and contribute to the strategic thinking behind how we continue to improve collections performance.
This role would suit someone with strong analytical skills, good SQL capability, and experience in Collections and/or consumer lending. The successful candidate will be proactive, commercially curious, and motivated by using data to influence decisions, improve outcomes, and help build a strong collections strategy in a fast-growing fintech.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build an understanding of Zilch’s end-to-end collections lifecycle, including early arrears, later-stage collections, external partner activity, and recoveries.
- Use data and insight to identify opportunities to improve collections strategy, customer treatment, segmentation, allocation, and recovery outcomes.
- Develop practical recommendations and proposals, with guidance, to support improvements across the collections lifecycle.
- Monitor collections performance, including targets, trends, customer outcomes, and key metrics such as roll rates, cure rates, liquidation, recoveries, placements, and payment performance.
- Use SQL to extract, analyse, and summarise data to support collections insight, strategy development, and decision-making.
- Assist with segmentation and allocation analysis across delinquency stages, customer groups, DCAs, and Debt Purchasers.
- Support analysis of DCA and Debt Purchaser placement, performance, and outcomes.
- Help investigate performance movements, identifying potential drivers, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Track the impact of strategy changes, operational initiatives, and external partner performance.
- Work with Collections, Credit Risk, Operations, Data, and other stakeholders to turn analysis into practical proposals and next steps.
- Support ad hoc analysis to answer business questions and improve understanding of collections performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
