Job Description

We’re looking for a Collectives Dealer to join our Dealing team at AJ Bell. This is a hands-on investment operations role responsible for the accurate and timely execution and contracting of Collective Investment Scheme trades across our investment platforms and for our Custody Solutions clients.

You’ll work closely with fund providers, transfer agents, custodians and internal teams to ensure trades are placed, contracted and settled correctly, while investigating exceptions and resolving queries along the way.

It’s a great opportunity for someone with experience in collective investment dealing, fund operations or investment operations who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, deadlines and customer outcomes matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor STP dealing channels and manage trades requiring manual placement or exception handling.
  • Ensure fund trades are placed accurately and within relevant fund cut-off times and service levels.
  • Complete trade contracting accurately and within agreed SLAs.
  • Investigate and resolve dealing and operational queries, taking ownership through to resolution.
  • Work with external counterparties including fund providers, authorised corporate directors, transfer agents, Clearstream, Aegon, EMX and Calastone.
  • Process FX transactions to support currency fund trading and internal trade requirements.
  • Work closely with our Platform Investments team to ensure funds are set up correctly, with accurate pricing and static data.
  • Support the Market Settlements team with the timely settlement of fund orders.
  • Monitor daily reconciliations, investigate breaks and ensure these are resolved within agreed timescales.
  • Process trade amendments accurately and promptly.
  • Process Private Placing trades in line with relevant procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support system testing, process improvements and operational change across the team.
  • Provide cover across the wider team where required to maintain service levels.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of service to internal and external customers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
