Job Title: College Recruiter – Higher Education

Location: London, Marylebone near Bond Street

Hours: Full time

Reports to: Head of Recruitment / Campus manager

Contract: Full-time

Role Purpose

  • Recruit Qualified students to ESE's London and Paris centres

About the European School of Economics

The European School of Economics (ESE) is an international College of Higher Education with centres in London, Milan, Florence, Rome and Madrid.

ESE offers undergraduate degree programmes and professional short courses to an international student body. Our approach is highly personal and internationally focused, attracting students who are looking for an educational experience that extends beyond the traditional university environment.

We are seeking an energetic and commercially minded College Recruiter to join our London team and help drive student recruitment for both our London and the new Paris centre.

The Role

This is a recruitment role with a strong sales and relationship-building focus.

The successful candidate will be comfortable speaking with prospective students and parents, understanding their needs, presenting ESE's programmes persuasively and following enquiries through from initial contact to enrolment.

We are particularly interested in someone who is proactive, confident and results-driven. The ability to build rapport quickly and turn interest into action is essential.

As the position will also support the development of our Paris centre, fluency in French and English is required.

Key Responsibilities

The College Recruiter will:

  • Respond to prospective student enquiries by telephone, email, online channels and in person.
  • Proactively contact prospective students and follow up leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, schools and other recruitment activities.
  • Develop relationships with prospective students and, where appropriate, their parents or advisers.
  • Present ESE's degree programmes and short courses clearly, enthusiastically and persuasively.
  • Understand each prospective student's objectives and identify the ESE programme and location most appropriate to them.
  • Follow prospective students systematically throughout the recruitment journey, from first enquiry through application and enrolment.
  • Work towards agreed recruitment, conversion and enrolment targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, applications and follow-up activity using the College's CRM and recruitment systems.
  • Re-engage previous enquiries and prospective students who have not yet enrolled.
  • Conduct individual consultations, campus visits and presentations for prospective students and families.
  • Represent ESE at education fairs, open days, school visits, recruitment events and other promotional activities.
  • Build relationships with schools, counsellors, education advisers, agents and other potential recruitment partners.
  • Support the development of recruitment activities aimed at the French and Francophone markets.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Admissions, Marketing and Academic Administration to ensure that prospective students receive a professional and responsive experience.
  • Contribute ideas for new recruitment campaigns, partnerships and market opportunities.
  • Provide regular reports on recruitment activity, pipeline development, conversion and results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Person We Are Looking For

Academic qualifications and higher education experience are valuable, but they are not the only indicators of success in this position.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys speaking with people and who understands that successful recruitment requires both relationship building and consistent follow-through.

The right person will be warm, confident, persuasive and entrepreneurial. They will not simply wait for applications to arrive; they will actively develop opportunities, maintain contact with prospective students and work towards converting genuine interest into enrolments.

At the same time, they must understand that choosing a university or college is an important personal decision. Recruitment at ESE should therefore be consultative rather than transactional: listening carefully to students, understanding their ambitions and helping them determine whether ESE is the right environment for them.

What ESE Offers

This is an opportunity to join an established international College at an important stage of its development and to play a direct role in the growth of both its London and Paris centres.

The position offers considerable scope for initiative and would suit someone who enjoys an international environment, takes ownership of results and wants to see a clear connection between their individual performance and the growth of the organisation.

Equal Opportunity Statement

The European School of Economics is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
