Colorectal Triage Pathway Co-ordinator

The Colorectal Service at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Colorectal Triage Pathway Co-ordinator's.

This post will be based at the Queen's Burton Hospital.

Purpose of the Post

The purpose of the post will be to support the Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist Team in the clinical triage of all Colorectal 2ww referrals. The posts will help to support the delivery of the faster diagnosis cancer standards, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients at the start of their pathway, including first investigations and on-going care.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Administration and clerical duties: Including typing of clinical correspondence, chasing/tracking of MRI/CT/Ultrasound and histology reports and escalating issues to the Triage CNS Team.
  • Monitoring: Monitor clinic appointment outcomes, ensure relevant tests are booked and monitor a result database to ensure timely review of results by a clinician to support the Colorectal team across UHDB to meet CWT guidance.
  • Patient Contact: The Pathway Coordinator role will involve patient contact as well as supporting the Triage CNS Team with general admin.
  • Workload Management: Responsible for the managing and organising of your own workload, you must be a confident communicator and able to liaise with clinicians and clinical staff and be able to multi-task.
