THE ROLE

The Colour Assistant role at BLACK KITE

As a Colour Assistant at Black Kite, you are responsible for helping deliver creative excellence on every Colour project. We are committed to supporting you and your continued career development. We will work closely with you to enable your personal progression towards becoming a Colourist.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for quality control on all deliverable Colour media.
  • Liaise with external parties around the supply and ingest of media for Colour sessions.
  • Work closely with Producers and Creatives to ensure they are adopting the best suitable colour workflow on projects.
  • Provide colour session prep support for the Black Kite Colourists.
  • Transcode rushes and prepare conforms from EDLs and offline edits using required software packages – Resolve / Baselight Conform / Flame assist / Adobe Premier.
  • Set up grade scenes on Baselight with correct edits, reframes, and any additional shots needed.
  • Manage and schedule grade pickups and run-throughs using CETA.
  • Prepare the grading suite environment for Colourists and clients ahead of attended studio sessions.
  • Prepare and QC check export media for the network/online or external delivery.
  • Responsible for producing efficient render workflows.
  • Work closely with the Black Kite Creative and Production talent to ensure they feel supported.
  • Ensure that the client experience at Black Kite Studios is always on point.
  • Work on Colour grading projects as a colourist to enable continued personal creative development.
  • Help us to make outstanding creative work.
