Commissioning Manager – Data Centres
Location: London, Hybrid
Salary: Up to £110,000 + package
A leading data centre organisation is looking for a Commissioning Manager with a strong Mechanical bias to join a central, multi-site technical team. This is a senior role providing commissioning leadership across the full data centre lifecycle — from design and construction through to handover and live operations. You’ll work closely with project, construction, engineering, contractors, vendors and operations teams to ensure commissioning is delivered safely, effectively and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning strategy, standards, governance and assurance across multiple data centre projects.
- Provide technical oversight from design review and pre-construction through commissioning, IST and handover.
- Lead and coordinate FAT, SAT, IST and L1–L5 commissioning activities.
- Develop and manage commissioning programmes, test documentation, schedules, risks and dependencies.
- Review designs from a commissionability, maintainability and operational perspective.
- Manage contractors, vendors and independent CxA teams, ensuring quality, documentation and programme requirements are met.
- Lead defect resolution, testing, validation and final acceptance.
- Support operational readiness, including training, O&M documentation and handover to live operations.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardisation across the wider commissioning function.

- Significant data centre / mission-critical commissioning experience.
- A strong Mechanical / MEP building services background.
- Experience across HVAC, cooling systems, BMS/controls and critical mechanical infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, including FAT, SAT, IST and L1–L5 testing.
- Experience working across colo through to hyperscale data centre environments.
- Strong understanding of design, construction and commissioning processes.
- Experience managing contractors, vendors, CxAs and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good knowledge of relevant international standards, particularly ASHRAE.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
