Location: Canderside Roads Depot, Carlisle Road, Birkenshaw, Larkhall, ML9 2GA
Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 4:45pm and Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm
Salary: £42,228 - £48,633 annual salary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Engineering Officer/Health and Safety Professional to be part of the Health and Safety, Performance and Training Team.
Applicants should have excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, motivated, and committed. Applicants should be able to contribute positively to an improving safety culture and have a strong desire to bring about service improvement across the Roads Operational Service, in a range of areas including health and safety, training, performance, and quality.
Applicants will also have excellent organizational and I.T. skills as well as be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize a diverse workload. Applicants with experience of developing and implementing Health and Safety management systems are particularly encouraged.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team who are responsible for Roads Operations development and ongoing management of health and safety, performance, and training.
You should also be able to demonstrate job-specific behaviors as contained within the job profile.
The successful applicant should have a minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), or suitable Health and Safety qualification i.e. Nebosh construction certificate, IOSH-accredited Level 6 qualification.
You must have the ability to travel as you will be expected to travel throughout the Council area.
